Experience analyzing the merits of claims and defenses, and providing risk assessments; drafting submissions including requests for arbitration, prehearing, posthearing, and cost submissions, and pleadings including statements of claim, statements of defense and counterclaim, reply pleadings, and rejoinders; and reviewing awards. Experience drafting and reviewing dispute resolution clauses including arbitration agreements. Experience with the preparation of witness written and oral testimony, including interviewing witnesses and drafting witness statements. Knowledge of regulatory authorities in Latin America. Experience selecting and working closely with local counsel in foreign jurisdictions in arbitration proceedings that are governed by foreign laws. Knowledge of international arbitration proceedings carried out under the rules of major international institutions, including the International Chamber of Commerce ICC and International Center for the Settlement of Investment Disputes ICSID. Experience in investorstate arbitration proceedings. Experience in energy disputes, particularly in the Latin American region.
