The certification is required by the State of Texas prior to being able to work with public school students. Texas Education Code, at Title 2, Section 21.003a, states A person may not be employed as a teacher . . . by a school district unless the person holds an appropriate certificate or permit issued in accordance with the Texas Education Code and regulations. Our School District does not provide any training to become a certified teacher.
