Specific Skills:The position requires at least a Bachelors, or its foreign equivalent, in Network Engineering, Computer Network Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related technical field, plus at least five 5 years of postdegree work experience as a Network Support Engineer, or similar support role. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Masters, or its foreign equivalent, in Network Engineering, Computer Network Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or a related technical field, plus at least two 2 years of postdegree work experience as a Network Support Engineer, or similar support role. In addition, the qualified applicant must have the following experience 2 years of experience working with network technologies including firewalls, content filters, and network routingswitching to help customers who have contacted the customer support team for help resolving issues of blocked network traffic or downed internet andor applications; 2 years of experience applying knowledge of networking protocols, including Transmission Control Protocol TCP, Spanning Tree Protocol STP, Address Resolution Protocol ARP, Open Shortest Path First OSPF, and Ethernet to troubleshoot network down situations for user interface customers using wireless access points and other user interface products; 2 years of experience using virtual Local Area Networks VLANs and the 802.11abgnac Wireless Fidelity WiFi Standard to analyze received signal strength indicators to help customers configure their 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks remotely; 2 years of experience supportingTesting Local Area Networks LANs, Wireless Local Area NetworksWLANs, and VLANs; 2 years of experience supportingTesting Virtual Private Networks VPNs, Network Address Translation NAT Devices, andor Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol DHCP Servers and Content Filtering; and 2 years of experience utilizing Network Troubleshooting Analysis Software, including Wireshark, to analyze packet captures and locate the broken flow of network traffic.
