Specific Skills:Requires a Masters degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering and 1 year of experience in the job offered or 1 year of experience preparing plans using CAD, planprofile analysis for ITS device locations CCTV, Vehicle Detector, Dynamic Message Signs, quality assurance and quality control of plans, technical report preparation and field visits; utilizing engineering tools including AutoCAD, MicroStation, GEOPAK, Aimsun, Synchro, Highway Capacity Software HCS, and SIDRA; utilizing references including Highway Capacity Manual, AASHTO GreenBook, and NEMA Standards; performing corridor safety analyses for highways, streets, and multimodal facilities, calibrating and validating the traffic simulation models; developing and inspecting traffic and transportation projects that includes traffic impact and safety studies, technology impacts to determine traffic operational impacts; evaluating alternatives and document measures of effectiveness to recommend proposed improvements and identify mitigation alternatives or safety countermeasures to correct deficiencies for current and future traffic conditions; performing traffic simulation and modeling of connected and autonomous vehicles CAV technology to determine traffic operational impacts; utilizing engineering tools including VISSIM and Synchro and calibrating and validating the traffic simulation model; and utilizing engineering tools including ArcGIS, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices MUTCD and preparing technical report preparation and field visits.br br Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
